Rachel Eubanks was an established composer, instructor, pianist, and ethnomusicologist from San Jose, California. Her compositions have won recognition in the National Association of Negro Americans and the International Dictionary of Black Composers. She founded the Eubanks Conservatory of Music and Arts in Los Angeles, headed several school departments, and taught piano from her home up to her passing, concluding a more than 50 year long teaching career.
