Akin Euba was a Nigerian composer, musicologist, and pianist. He is known as the pioneer of both African pianism and creative ethnomusicology. His compositions synthesize traditional African material (often from his own ethnic group, the Yoruba people) and contemporary classical music, including twelve-tone technique.
