Carmen Brouard

Carmen Brouard was a Haitian-Canadian pianist, composer and music educator. She was considered the most accomplished Haitian composer of her time. She studied at the Paris Conservatory. During her time in France, she became friends with Maurice Ravel. In 1956, she was admitted to the Faculté des lettres de Paris. She founded the Society of Research and Dissemination of Haitian Music in Quebec.
