Dr. Timothy Amukele, MD, is the Medical Director for ICON Clinical Research’s laboratories global portfolio and the President of Pathologists Overseas Inc, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine practice in low-income countries.  Prior to this, he was on faculty at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and served as the Chief of Pathology and Director of the Clinical Laboratories at Johns Hopkins Bayview hospital.

In addition to his life in medicine, he is a composer and arranger of vocal music. His commissions include “I Will Rise” by the New York Chapter of the National Association of Negro Musicians; Composer-in-residence for the Grady-Rayam foundation; and “What Sweeter Music”, a Christmas Cantata by the Queen Anne Methodist Church. His 2021 commissions include the American Spiritual Ensemble; “Spirit Moves”, a community opera for the IN Series opera company in DC; and MADMAN, a song cycle based on the parables of Khalil Gibran.
